May Day raid up the Matakana

The tide is perfect for a raid up the Matakana River to the Markets, enjoy an hour or so and return back down when the tide ebbs.

Meet at 8:30 at Sandspit Beach and leave in a group (of sorts). There is a launching ramp past the car park for dinghies on trailers or at the Sandspit Yacht Club. There is a launching fee for using this ramp.

Mike Mahoney can provide three St Ayles rowing skiffs for those feeling energetic. (each holding 5 people).

  • Lifejackets for all attendees

  • High water at Matakana is 10.30am
